Eric J. Farber merged his firm, Farber & Company Attorneys, P.C., into Pinnacle Law Group, LLP in April of 2008. His practice focuses on day-to-day issues for athletes, entertainers, high profile individuals and their related entities as well as technology companies and small to medium sized businesses.
Experience
Mr. Farber is considered an expert in several areas including intellectual property, celebrity rights of publicity and sports properties. In addition, Mr. Farber has litigated dozens of matters in the areas of copyright, trademark, rights of publicity, real estate litigation as well as complex personal injury. Mr. Farber has also represented numerous entertainers in record, television, film and literary properties. His practice includes representation of Amaru Entertainment, Inc. (the Estate of Tupac Shakur), Amaru-AWA Merchandising, Inc., Live Universe, Inc., Matt Kirby (games inventor “Apples to Apples”) and several professional athletes including Rudi Johnson (Cincinnati Bengals), Willie Anderson (Cincinnati Bengals), Patrick Williams (Minnesota Vikings), and Gaines Adams (Tampa Bay Bucs), Pro Boxer Karim Mayfield and Extreme Sports star Joby Ogwyn (National Geographic’s “The Adventurist”).
Mr. Farber also advises numerous small to medium sized businesses (to $50,000,000.00 value) in a variety of arenas including employment, intellectual property, real estate transaction and site leasing, branding and brand management, media and internet compliance, fundraising and day-to-day legal affairs. He has been involved in the acquisition and underwriting of several multi-million dollar real estate and technology projects.
Mr. Farber oversees the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation High School Scholarship program and is on the Board of the RudiJ Foundation.
Mr. Farber has been given the highest (AV) rating by Martindale-Hubbell, and was named in 2006 & 2007 as a Northern California Superlawyer by Law and Politics Magazine and San Francisco Magazine. In 2008, Mr. Farber was named a National Superlawyer for Corporate Counsel. He is a former Adjunct Professor of Law in the Intellectual Property Department of Golden Gate University School of Law teaching Sports Law; Advanced Entertainment: the Constitution and Entertainment; as well as Film and Television Law.
